The Garden Pictorial

Bulbs for all seasons

Edward and Clare Barham’s magnificent estate garden is open to the public throughout the season. The woodland and borders boast a wide selection of bulbs, both naturalised in meadows and lawns, growing in the borders and highlighted in pots on the terraces. Head Gardener Quentin Stark is particularly interested in snowdrops, but the range continues throughout the year, though the gardens are perhaps best known for their bluebell woods. Although this is large scale bulb growing, there are lots of exciting ideas to inspire even those with the smallest of plots.
