A garden designed for ecology & pleasure
Garden owners Paula & Iain purchased their home in 1998, drawn to the mid-century modern style and its resemblance to a bird hide nestled in a rural estuary setting. The land for their new garden was purchased in 2013 and it was always their intention to create a wildlife garden for their young son to explore.
The garden’s cetnre piece is a large pond, fed by a natural spring and rainwater collected from the roof, and is home to a number of amphibians, mammals, invertebrates and a family of moorhens.
The entire garden is designed to blend ecological stewardship and aesthetic pleasure, to promote biodiversity whilst providing a beautiful, relaxing space for the family to enjoy
