WALTON ON THAMES GARDEN
A GROWN UP FAMILY GARDEN
When Pam and husband Carl moved to the house in 2011, the children were small and the lawn was large - ideal for the little ones to run free and play . . but as the children grew, Pam became interested in wildlife and sustainability, and the lawn gradually shrunk and was replaced with shrubs, trees, grasses. and vegetable beds.
Inspired by the gardens at Great Dixter and the rewilding project at Knepp, Pam and Carl designed a garden with wildlife and sustainability at the forefront, but also a place to sit and entertain with family and friends.
“Seeing the garden evolve and all the insects, birds and mammals visit has been amazing. Frogs and newts in the pond, hedgehogs in the borders and many birds who come to feast on the berries and seedheads of the plants”.
